lawful things relating thereto, and the Commanding Officer shall be deemed to be a public officer within the meaning of the Crown Suits Ordinance, 1910, and the service of the force shall be deemed to be a public service within the meaning of that Ordinance.

(2) If any person being or having been a member of the Force refuses or neglects to pay any money subscribed by or undertaken to be paid by him towards any of the funds or expenses of the force such money shall (without prejudice to any other remedy) be recoverable by the Commanding Officer from him, with costs, in a summary way before a magistrate at any time within eighteen months after the same becomes due or payable.

(3) The Commanding Officer may appear before a magis- trate under this section personally or by any member of the Force authorised by him in writing under his hand.

29. Every member of the Force shall, on his admission to the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force or as soon afterwards. as may be, make the declaration in the form in the Schedule to be administered by a Justice of the Peace.

Declaration.

I, A.B., do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King George the Fifth, His Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully serve His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors, in accordance with the provisions of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Ordinance, 1933, (and of any Ordinance. amending, supplementary to or substituted for the same) and of the regulations which may be in force thereunder from time to time, and that I will not improperly communicate, during or after my term of service in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, to any person any sketch, plan, model, article, note, document or information which has been entrusted, shown or communicated in confidence to me, or has been obtained by me, owing to my position as a member of the Force.
